We have some big news to share with you all. This year, 2022, there will be no race although the race format will return in October 2023. Javier Garcia, our race director explains this decision: “There are other exciting professional and sporting projects that I have to develop in 2022, which make it technically unfeasible to carry out the Trans-Nomad powered by Orbea race. The decision, which has not been easy, has been communicated to the main sponsors of the event(Orbea, Dirtlej, Industry Nine, 226ers, Huesca La Magia) and I have to thank them for their understanding and support. However, I´ve already informed them that in 2023 there will be a new edition of Trans-Nomad powered by Orbea“
We have more news that we hope the transnomader community will like: Trans-Nomad Experience is born! This is a collaboration between Trans-Nomad and Basque MTB, a mountain bike travel agency who have been based in the Pyrenees for almost 15 years.
Trans-Nomad Experience will be two one-week adventures in the Pyrenees, in the second half of July and with all the ingredients of Trans-Nomad (mint trails, supplies, transportation, chill area, shuttles, safety guide, etc). The experience, with all the usual high mountain atmosphere of Trans-Nomad, will be supported by the Basque MTB guides and as well as 5 days of amazing riding, will include local gastronomy from each valley, post ride refreshments and feed stations. The Trans-Nomad Experience will be open to both mountain bikes and electric bikes.
“The Trans-Nomad Experience trip will consist of a 5-day circular tour through the Pyrenees, taking in the trails of Puro Pirineos – Valle de Benasque, Zona Zero Pirineos and Val d’Aran. The stages will be high mountain, but less physically demanding than those of the race thanks to several uplifts each day. Rather than competition, this trip is a holiday with a big helping of adventure!” says our friend Doug Mc Donald, head of Basque MTB who was also taken part in the Trans-Nomad powered by Orbea in 2019.
All the information about the trip as well as the inscriptions for this Trans-Nomad experience will be available from March 7 on our Trans-Nomad website (www.trans-nomad.com) and on the Basque MTB website (www.basquemtb.com) and we will keep you tuned of all the news through our social networks. Before this date we will be working on our website to update the information, prices, what is included and all the details of the trip.
We hope that this first Trans-Nomad experience excites you as much as the Trans-Nomad and BasqueMTB team.
