From October 2nd to 6th, the seventh edition of Trans-Nomad will be held. An edition that, like all previous ones, will feature a different and full of novelties route. Welcome to the wildest Trans-Nomad in history!
A base camp in the most authentic Pyrenees
This year, for the first time in our history, Trans-Nomad will have just one base camp, for the 4 days of racing and 5 days of event, located in Bielsa (Huesca), a village we have passed through so many times and where we even started and finished our 2019 edition.
During the 4 days of race, we will explore and ride one of the trendiest mountain bike destinations: Bielsa Trocs, a new network of well-worked trails that will allow us to enjoy riding our bikes to its fullest. Its strategic location will also allow us to explore the neighboring and wild Bal de Chistau and, of course, tackle some of the best high mountain trails offered by the Zona Zero Pirineos routes. With the first morning lights, we will ascend higher than 2,000 meters of altitude, where remote passes and lonely valleys will be awaiting for us. In order to obtain such a reward, we will have to pay the toll of pushing or carrying our bike. This is Trans-Nomad and its essence will be more present than ever!
We can already let you know that, thanks to Orbea and Trail Tales, this year we are going to recover more kilometers of trails for Trans-Nomad. And we will also be able to enjoy new sections and trails that have not been rode in any of the previous editions.
Stages, elevation, categories, and services
Regarding the stages, we can advance that they will range between 30 and 45 km in length, and between 1300 and 1900 meters of elevation gain. Altogether, we will cover over 160 km, 6000 meters of ascent, and 11,000 meters of descent. You have to be physically and mentally prepared to face a Trans-Nomad race, but leave the fear aside! It is a demanding adventure but achievable for anyone with preparation and used to riding mountain trails. Regarding timed sections, there will be between 4 and 5 sections each day.
At middays, we will stop for lunch at our refreshment stations, where we will be able to recharge our betteries and exchange feelings before facing the afternoon ride and completing other timed sections, until we reach the hotel. Once there, we will spend a good time in our legendary Chill Area, enjoying a beer, a drink, and a picnic before dinner.
In our paddock, you will be able to wash your bike, make use of the nursing service if you need it, or visit our mechanical service, where you´ll be able to repair and adjust your bike for the upcoming day.
Categories for men, women, and e-bike will remain as in previous editions. New this year, subcategories of Elite, Master 30, Master 40, and Master 50 will be added in all of them.
As you can see, everything is already under way for another epic and wild edition of Trans-Nomad. We just need you in!
Remember, on April 10th, at 10 am, registrations will be open for the greatest MTB event of the Aragonese Pyrenees, and there are only 90 spots for this edition; don’t miss yours!
